January Review

Yes I know its March, but we will just start with January and hopefully I can get a few posts done the next couple of weeks and get caught up.  January is always the month to get caught up after the holidays, put the Christmas decorations away, pick up pine needles for weeks, find places for all the new toys, and of course return to work! I will just do a quick review through pictures of what life was like around our house in January.

Kellan is everywhere and into everything! 

January 15 is Papa's birthday and Tyson's birthday.  We were planning on going to Kansas for Tyson's birthday, but of course the weather kept us away.  So our plan was to help Papa celebrate his birthday in Des Moines.  Braydon and I love to bake and Braydon loves birthdays!  So we made a special trip to the store to get cake stuff for Papa's birthday.  On the way there, Braydon called papa and asked him "what kind of cake do you want...chocolate or white".  Papa responded both!  That made it tricky, but we made it work.  The entire time we are mixing the ingredients Braydon always asks, can I lick it now?  But he always waits until I say ok.

Did I mention Kellan is everywhere and into everything...well his favorite past time is climbing up and down the stairs!

We had another birthday in January... Great Grandpa Wink turned 90 years old!  They had a party with lots of family and friends in Perry.  As usual, Braydon made us light the candle 2 times, so he could practice!

The boys also like to spend time in the basement family room where they have a few toys and by few, I mean way too many.  Kellan recently discovered a tunnel that is pretty fun to crawl through.

We can't always have fun around the house, it is important to get some cleaning down too!

Sometimes I worry that I pay too much attention to Kellan by taking his picture all the time.  So I always try to get a few of Braydon.

If you haven't met Kellan, you probably don't know about his love for food!  This kid will eat anything and everything!  He also does not stop.  He is over "baby food" because he likes to feed himself.

I love spaghetti nights!

January was a cold month, so we spent a lot of time indoors!  Braydon loves to play hide and seek.  He likes to tell you where to hide and you have to help him hide sometimes.  It is always "fun."  Braydon refuses to go to bed without at least one book.  We first go to bed with just his camping lantern on, the door shut... then when it is time to go to sleep, we turn the lantern off and put his lamp on for the night.  He also like to build tents and go camping.  Hopefully this summer we will get to do it for real.

Kellan is an active kid.  If you leave the pantry door open, he is in there...if you leave the bathroom door open, he has the toilet brush...if you turn your back on him while he is sitting in the high chair, he is standing up...he keeps us on our toes!  He likes to play with cars and play catch with a ball.   And if I didn't mention it, he loves to go up and down the stairs!!
