Growing up we use to go to the Ledges State Park located just outside of Boone a lot. It is an awesome place, that doesn't seem like you are in Iowa. It has a creek that runs through it and there are limestone cliffs all around. It was always so much fun to play in the water and go hiking. A few years ago it was flooded really bad and the next summer it looked like a disaster area. Well I am happy to report, it finally looks like the park we use to love to go to as kids!
Memorial Day weekend, my brother Joel suggested we have a picnic at Ledges. Saturday it was scheduled to be awesome out, so we decided we should go. It was awesome. The boys loved playing in the water. Kellan loved throwing rocks and Braydon kept wanting to go hiking. I think he ended up going about 4 times. One hike was just Braydon and Ryan. Braydon wanted to go to the "Crow's Nest". The Crow's Nest is just a lookout spot near the top. So Braydon and Ryan hiked all the way up there, when they got there, Braydon was disappointed because there was no "nest!"
