After Christmas and New years, we decided it was time for Braydon to make room in his bedroom for baby #2. The first major change was getting his toddler bed and the crib to fit into his bedroom and have him give up his crib. I have been dreading this. Braydon is the best sleeper at night. You say it is time for night, night and he gives hugs and kisses and goes right to bed. In the mornings, he will sometimes just hang out in there until you come and get him. I didn't want to worry about him being out of his bed at night and wondering around.
As our due date for baby #2 was getting closer, it was time. First of all, we had to clean and reorganize parts of Braydon's room. Next up was putting the bed together. Braydon thought this was pretty fun and was extremely helpful.
After the bed was put together and it was time to see what Braydon thought. We put his new toy story blanket and pillow on the bed and we were ready to see his reaction. Initially, he left the room. I thought oh no. But he eventually came back and thought it was pretty awesome that he could crawl in and out of his bed.
Then it was time for the real test. Actually sleeping in it. He let me tuck him in and his teddy bear and it was night, night time.
After a blanket change because of a little incident, he was fast asleep.
So far, so good with his new bed. He waits in his bed in the mornings and just yells "mommy', Daddy, or hello" and he will wait until we get in there to get up. Hopefully this continues!
We did find a few binkies while cleaning and we thought we should have Braydon throw them away (since he hasn't had one since October we thought he didn't care anymore). Well we were wrong. We asked him to go throw it away and he went and put it in the crib!
