Friday, August 20 was Braydon's 1st birthday! Ryan and I took the day off to hang out with Braydon. We planned on going to the zoo or state fair, but rain changed those plans. We got our family picture taken in the morning and then we took Braydon to Target to pick out a present!
The afternoon was spent at home just hanging out and letting Braydon do whatever he wanted to.
Saturday was Braydon's party day. We had a lot of people come over for a baseball themed grill out-grandparents,great grandparents, aunts, uncles, great aunts, great uncles, cousins, and friends. I made Braydon a baseball cake from scratch (a little help from Ryan) and Grandma lundstrom got him a picture cake (I was worried mine might not taste good).
We had a great time and Braydon got lots of fun stuff (even though we asked for no presents). Wagon, kawasaki four wheeler, a dump truck, baseball stuff, a drum, hawkeye football jersey and hat, his very own chair, uni shirt, and lots, lots more fun stuff. He had a great time, but he wasn't too interested in eating his cake. He liked a little frosting, but to all of our surprise he did not destroy it.
Thanks everyone for coming over to celebrating!
What Braydon can do at 1 year old:
- He is walking most of the time, but still crawls when it is quicker
- Climbs on top of everything! (I caught him sitting on top of his activity table)
- Loves playing with the letters on his Braydon stool
- likes to play catch with a baseball
- loves ice cream and yogurt
- Gives the best kisses (he opens his mouth and leans in to you)
- Loves to watch the Family Feud
- just learning to wear shoes
- likes to brush his own hair and try to brush yours
- Gives high fives!
