January

In January we had lots going on.  Sean went to his first basketball game...Drake vs UNI.  He did great!  But the beginning of the month was most dedicated to planning Papa's surprise 70th birthday.  The Colorado Lundstrom's planned a return trip to Iowa to attend the party and surprise Lumpy.  First up, we headed to Carroll to Celebrate Tyson's 11th birthday (its the same day at Lumpys and was on Thursday).  Saturday was a busy day.  We had lots of help getting the party ready and he was definitely surprised!  There were lots of family and friends.  It was so great to see everyone and I think Lumpy had a great time.  Luckily Jenn took lots of pictures.

Besides the party, Braydon played in a basketball league.  Since his dad has coached him already, Braydon asked me if I would ever be his coach.  So it was time for basketball and time for me to step up.  It was so great.  I had an awesome group of kids and Braydon even scored a few baskets!

Unfortunately all of January was not full of fun times.  Grandma Dar passed away on January 16.  It was a very difficult and overwhelming time.  We spent a lot of time remembering her and I got to hear lots of stories about Ryan growing up and spending time with her and his cousin.  We are thankful for all the friends and family that truly supported Ryan and all of us during this time.
