Welcome to the World Sean Richard

When you are told that your third baby is due June 28 and your other children were born 4 days early, you make the poor assumption that number 3 will be here early!  Well our baby decide to wait just a little bit longer.  On Monday June 30, I went to work to everyone's surprise I had not had the baby let.  So I went to the doctor that afternoon for my check up and there was still no progress.  We sent up an induction for Wednesday...so we knew our new addition would be here soon.  That evening, I started to have contractions and just started to feel like something was going on.  So Aunt D came over to spend the night in case I had to go to the hospital.  All night I had contractions about 10 minutes apart, so I slept on the couch to let Ryan get some rest.

Ryan usually gets up for work at 6am..so I told him you are not going to work today.  I wanted to see the boys before we went to the hospital, so we waited for them to get up around 7:30am.  Around 8:30am or 9 we finally headed to the hospital.  Once we got there, there was no room for us!  So they put us in a temporary room where I had to share a bathroom - not exactly an ideal situation.

Contractions started to get more intense, so my laughing carefree attitude was starting to change as Ryan and I were still discussing what to name this baby girl or boy.  I was starting to get worried, that I would never get to my room where I could finally get an epidural.  Eventually around 11am, they got our room.  Soon afterwards, I got the epidural.  Finally I was ready to rest a minute.  Our parents showed up as I was getting ready to take a nap.  After they left to get some food with Ryan, my epidural quit working on the right side of my body.  I started throwing up again and feeling a lot of pain on that side.  So they increased the epidural, but that didn't even help...eventually I realized my relaxed labor I was planning on, was not going to happen.  When Ryan arrived back he was surprised to see me in so much pain.  The nurse checked me and asked if I felt like pushing...I said I don't know.  She said it will not feel as bad so I said okay let's do this.

What seemed like about 10 minutes and just a few pushes..I saw my son for the first time...Sean Richard made his appearance!  Ryan and I were both surprised it was a boy, but delighted.  I can't wait for my 3 sons to grow up together.

He weighed in at 8lbs 9 ounces and was 20 3/4 long.  Ryan thought he should go tell our parents their newest grandbaby had arrived, but I wanted him to wait and tell them if it was a girl or boy so I could see their reaction.  I had to feed him before they could show up.  So Ryan went down the hallway and told our parents...your newest grandchild is here.  Of course they wanted to know what he was, but Ryan said they had to wait just a little bit longer!  They were excited to baby was okay...but not to excited to have to wait to find out the gender.

Finally they got to meet him and they were very excited.  That afternoon the boys came to meet their newest brother.  Aunt D had been babysitting them all day and I guess it was like the longest game of..."Are we there yet".   They (Braydon) kept asking if they baby had arrived yet.

The boys both snuggled into my bed as they met their brother and I said its a boy!  Braydon's response was...but I wanted a girl.  He was very disappointed at first, but once he got to have McDonalds for dinner, he was no longer upset!

We have been busy adjusting to life with 3, but the boys are very sweet to their little brother.  They love to give him kisses and try to make him laugh.
