Turning 4!

August 20th, Braydon turned 4 years old.  To say this kid was excited about his birthday is an understatement.  He has been planning his birthday party for 6 months and it was going to be a Scooby Doo theme.  It was very difficult to explain to him that his birthday was on a Tuesday and his party would be on the following Saturday.  He woke up on Tuesday, 8/20 and wanted to know where everyone was.  He had tears in his eyes because he didn't understand it wasn't his party.

After we got through that, we let him know that Mom and Dad took the day off of work to spend it with him.  He could do anything he wanted to.  He decided he wanted to go to the zoo and a movie.  We told him we would take Kellan to the babysitter, but he didn't want that.  He wanted brother to go to the zoo with us and then he could go to the babysitters after that so we could go to a movie.  So that's what we did.  We had a great morning at the zoo

Then my camera's batteries died...can you believe it!  Next up was lunch at Chipotle and then the movies to watch Despicable Me 2.  Who knew Tuesday afternoons were cheap and have $2 popcorn!  After the movie, we had a little more time before we had to pick up Kellan, so we went to Incredible pizza to ride the go-carts.  Braydon had a blast...and we did too.  We also played some mini golf and lots of video games.

Then is was time for home and some vanilla cake with vanilla frosting...kellan also thought this was awesome!  And of course singing happy birthday 2 times.

No birthday is complete with a Happy Birthday in the driveway from Aunt D!

and it was a full moon

Me and my 4 year old!

And we finished it off with a few scooby doo board games and his own Scooby Doo!
We almost forgot to even have him open his presents...so at 9:00pm that night we gave him his scooby doo board games, a scooby doo shirt and his own little scooby doo doll...he loved it.  I think he said thank mommy about 500 times!

Next up was his party.  We were having it on Saturday evening...this kid was sooooo excited.  Every time the doorbell rang, he yelled at the top of his lungs and ran to the door.

Getting the pinata ready

Braydon's turn
They got it knocked down on the ground, but it still wouldn't break!

Since the little kids couldn't get it, it was time for the big kids to try!

Corey with the pitch

Ryan with the hit!

The pinata was filled with candy, cars and kazoos!  The birthday party watching the excitement of the pinata!

Last year Aunt D showed up with and awesome Angry Bird Cake....so 6 months ago, Braydon asked her for a Scooby Doo cake, we were anxiously waiting to see what she would come up with.  Grandma Pat and Papa also bring a cake with Braydon's picture on it.  So 2 cakes, no problem.  This year Aunt D decided to whip up 2 cakes...who doesn't need 3 birthday cakes for their party!

What a fun day!  We are so thankful for all of our friends and family that made it.  If you know Braydon, you know that he loves birthdays and he had a blast.  Thanks for everything and we have already starting planning next years party...Braydon keeps saying, for my next birthday...
