As we are getting closer to baby #2 entering the world, I just wanted to share some of things Braydon is up to doing and saying that really make everyday life very amusing. At some point Braydon got a sense of humor and he is constantly making me laugh.
1. Bears - for Christmas I got all the cousins little Christmas bears, well Braydon decided that he should have his sleep in his crib with him (this is before his big boy bed). so every night I would tuck Braydon in and then the bear. Once he got to his big boy bed, he kept this tradition. Well we added another bear, a little bigger bear. Then one night, Braydon said baby bear, mommy bear, where daddy bear? Well I was frantic, I had to add another bear. I found one in his room and this is a BIG bear, but it works for daddy bear, or at least I thought. Each night, he has to have all 3 of them with him and he tucks them in.
The other night he even put them all at the dinner table, they each had their own chair and were eating Cheerios! Now he thinks he is funny because we have baby bear, daddy bear and mommy bear is the BIG bear! I try to tell him that Mommy is still smaller than Dad, but he doesn't care, the Biggest bear is mom!
2. Every morning when Braydon wakes up, he says: "where dad go?". I reply "work". He says, "Dad go to work, I go to work too!" He repeats this all morning, all the way to the babysitter. When I pick him up at the babysitter, he says, where dad go? I reply, Dad is at home, he tells me "no dad go to work". And by every day I mean EVERYDAY!
3. Last week we got in the car to go to the babysitters and he said "I wock", I was like you walk, no I wock, finally I figured it out, he said "I rock". this means - we turn up AC/DC back in and black and we rock out all the way to the babysitter. He even likes to do a little air drum and sing along ... he refuses to let me video this (which is tough to do while driving), so I have no good footage of this.
4. Loves snowmen, everyday we pass one next to the babysitter's house and he says "hi snowman" and when we leave at the end of the day, he says "bye snowman".
5. For Christmas, Grandma Marcia got him his own step stool. He uses this thing everywhere - brush his teeth, turn lights on and off, cook in the microwave. He even tries to use it to get into the freezer to get ice for his water - which he is obviously still too short for!
6. Tortillas! yes he still loves his tortillas. but now he makes quesadillas himself. He opens the fridge, gets the cheese and tortilla out - hands them to me. We get his stool set up and put the tortilla on his plate. Then he sprinkles the cheese on the tortilla and always takes a handful of cheese and eats it when he is done. then we move over to the microwave, where he pushes "30 start" and opens the door when it is done cooking! Then with his assistance we cut it up and eat!
7. Final story - this last weekend, we cleaned, decluttered and rearranged some stuff in the house for a showing on Sunday. Braydon was in Perry, so he wasn't there when we moved things. Sunday he fell asleep on the way home, so he finished his nap before he saw what we had done. When he woke up from his lap, he went to the kitchen and noticed the microwave was missing and broke down into tears...crying microwave. Once Ryan put it back he was all good! Who would have thought a 2 year old would be so distraught over a missing microwave!
